In 10 years the Bitcoin mining industry will have at minimum 5 different business models, all of which will be profitable. Home mining does not disappear because of the existence of Megamining. Megamining does not evaporate because off-grid waste mining exists. Off grid mining doesn't die off because of solar farms selling $0.0/kWh electricity to miners. Model, Scale, and Type are three criteria you should have in mind when assessing your Bitcoin mining business. 1. Model: How do they make money? When mining? When not mining? In other ways via adjacent industries? 2. Scale: What are the natural size limitations of this model? Infrastructure? Space? Sound? Cooling type? 3. Type: What footprints and cooling types are available to you and economically efficient for your purposes? Containers? Custom Buildings? Retrofits of existing infrastructure? It's just business. If you want to survive, mining must be business first, and ideology second. We all want this space to continue to grow, and unless you can pay your bills with ideology, you're going to have a bad time without a carefully thought out and executed business model!
