Grew hops for the first time this summer. Harvested half a pound of mostly Cascade and made a wet hop pale ale today. I’ve never had such clear wort into the fermenter, but the kettle drains so slowly.

Brewtist 1.2.2 is available on the App Store. It fixes a problem for all grain brewers that would hang the app on iOS 14. Sorry it took so long to get this out. It’s a bug in iOS 14, believe it or not. I had to work with dev tech support at Apple to find a fix.

Lager starters are so much more work than a typical ale starter. Finally have this 2300 ml starter of WLP830 spinning for tomorrow’s Oktoberfest Märzen. Spoke too soon. Stir plate threw the bar again.

Bought a @thebrewbag hoping to fix my sparge issues and it worked out perfectly. Really fine mesh (no chance of anything getting through to clog stuff up) and easy to clean. I’m not converting entirely to BIAB just yet, but pleased with a hybrid process.

Brewing the second variation on my New World Pale recipe today. Super simple grain bill, 25-30 IBUs of Magnum for bitterness and a single flavor/aroma hop variety in the whirlpool and dry hop. Up today is Medusa. #homebrew
