@brianlfrye SCOTUS has held that the public certainly has an interest in a speedy trial that justice requires be taken into account.
@brianlfrye Doesn’t the public have a right to justice being done as well? If nothing else, there are cases where a trial eliminates suspects, and delay helps the guilty at the expense of the innocent.
