the fact that tv shows that are over a decade old have more active fandoms than most recent shows tells you everything about the current tv landscape. the binge format for shows that are only ten episodes per season gives them absolutely no longevity
the resurfacing of procedural shows all over my tl because everyone craves for long form content and slow burns, GIVE THE PEOPLE WANT THEY WANT

@buffyologies Plus new shows take years for new seasons to come out. Severance, Euphoria, other examples I can't think of rn. Like even if I do get super attached to a show - it takes 6 years to get 24 episodes. What kind of dedicated audience can you build with that?
