I'm fairly old school as a writer. Still drafting big chunks of text on pen and paper. Inputting those scribbles into a machine is draft 1.1. Later drafts are entirely on machine. Then at the very end of the process, I print out the whole book and do edits on paper again, like a dinosaur. That said, I'm trying to lean harder into experimenting with technology to get more efficient. One thing I have enjoyed doing is having Speechify read me my manuscript as a pdf, while I read along in Word and edit. Pausing as needed for longer revisions. Hearing a strange actor's voice read the text unlocks something in my editing brain. The AI in Speechify glitches out once in a while, but often its interpretations of how to read a sentence/paragraph with proper inflection are spot on. In any case, the experience allows me to quickly see and hear problems that would take me longer to identify, if I had to read the book aloud to myself, over and over. Anyone else doing this?
If I say I saw a ghost the comments are mild. If I say I saw a UFO I get slammed in the most vicious ways. I wonder why.
Lemme know if the extraterrestrials start buzzing AI data centers in their saucers. Until then, my civilization-ender of choice is human-fired nuclear weapons. If you've never read a UFO book, consider this one. It's a serious piece of research and quite well written. #UFOsAndNukes #SecretHistories

And yes, I am working on another one. Novel 2 ("a very good book that will be very difficult to sell" - my agent) failed with a few publishers, and I have shelved it, rather than accumulate rejections. Novel 3 (current project) is about the U.S. gubment's involvement with the UFO/UAP phenomenon. Also, love, loss, bloodlines, and the dangerous seductions of secrecy. Stay tuned!
