There was no counter offer- Farage promised a phone call he didn't make. Lowe is perhaps an old school Tory, whereas Reform are the most recent Tories who were Blairite Labour 2.0, which makes Reform Labour 3.0. I'm a centrist who voted Lib Dem but always prefered the Tories over the loony left Labour that you have become. I get you point, except they do have to point and shoot, but it should also be replicas fring blanks and highly controlled scenes. In between scenes, the rules should apply. It's funny though, as before this I was watching a series (Neagley) and they gave a young guy a sub machine gun, when he showed no backstory of gun training. That's a telling point, I think the most important thing here is that the two points of failure that are completely under your own control and knowledge, is your trigger finger and where you point the gun. That weapon was probably handed over, was likely not checked by the recipient and the rest of the points of failure were just trusting in the actions of someone else.

No, that's not what I'm saying at all, as that wasn't the subject you were talking about for which I replied. But I do agree with that and anyone who doesn't get the common sense - including the other officer, the photographer, anyone in the PR team and the chief of police. Although even then, it's not that relevant as when putting together a PR photo, as the team you are presenting should be involved, especially if they supplied the gun. They should be highly trained and drilled in gun safety and be at pains to give gun safety advice before handing over the weapon. The greater issue here is that the safety knowledge was not ingrained enough or taken seriously enough for that to happen, which is very worrying. The reaction by the police chief showed, that from the top to bottom, they are more concerned about their feelings being hurt from valid, online criticism, than actual danger from deadly weapons that some of them will be using. Do you "get" my position now?
