Hi @TTChelps ! I know that your people have been working really hard with the snow but it's also important for your customers that the sidewalks in front of the TTC properties are shoveled. Here's the sidewalk on Davenport in front of the Hillcrest yards.

And if this sidewalk is actually the responsibility of the city of Toronto, please feel free to let them know @cityto @

I was able to go get through because I'm able-bodied and walking, but if I were using a mobility device or pushing a stroller that would have been really hard. Everyone deserves to be able to get around our city and it's important that are public sidewalks are clear

If you care about preserving affordable housing and commercial spaces in Toronto, check out the Kensington Market Community Land Trust youtube.com/watch?v=rI7dcU… kmclt.ca/Kensington-Com… and if you are looking for a good investment that also does good, this is a good option

Early European settlers in Canada really were the WORST immigrants

If you think immigration is bad for Canada, then maybe we should start a first-in, first-out policy for settlers: those of us descended from the earliest European settlers should all leave, we had our turn, etc. /kind of sarcasm, but also kind of not

Every single person who has spread the harmful rhetoric that “immigrants are the problem” is part of this xenophobic display. You may not be holding a hateful sign, but your anti-immigrant sentiment played a role in emboldening these cowards.

I am also on the sky site under captcelery - I had great hopes for Mastodon, being open-source and distributed - but it seems that the people I follow were more likely to move to Bluesky. I don't post much anyways.

hello - I know I don't post much, but if you wish to follow me on mastodon, I am now at: @[email protected] (I am the only captcelery that I can find on Mastodon - vegetable warriors are few. all three are me, only I forgot about one instance and another closed.)

i am super weirded out by the fact that this site went literally dark (as well as metaphorically). I know lots of people like "dark mode" but I find it confusing and off-putting.

@Samadeus It's among the worst thing I have ever heard of, like the Hamas attack on families, how they burned children alive.

Vivian was a beloved of multiple JFREJ members. This is devastating. May her memory be a blessing. May all hostages be freed, may the bombing stop, may the siege end, may we never forget that every life is an entire world. Every life.

Israeli peace activist Vivian Silver, founder of Woman Wage Peace and former @btselem board member, was killed in her home on Oct 7. She was previously presumed to have been taken hostage in Gaza, & many hoped she was still alive. She was ID’d today May her memory be a blessing

@Matnadler @molly_kraft We aren't one and the same, but it's like they are family -- literally, for many Canadian Jews. And when your family do bad things, you need to confront it and not support it unconditionally.

@Matnadler @molly_kraft it is important for Jews to stand up against the occupation and oppression of Gaza and the West Bank, because we do have a special connection to Israel.

I want to suggest that this is a stupid battle. Perhaps there are ways to protest a foreign government without terrorizing neighbours of yours who have nothing to do with it, and who belong to a small, vulnerable and persecuted ethnic minority. 14/x
