@RealSimpleAriel I think it’s because a lot of FinX use terms like “big discount” or “cheap.” They have a very different perspective from O’Neil, Minervini, and other growth investors on the “right time to buy”.

That would be amazing, but you’re probably right. All the posts on x with 10–22x winners in this bull market is messing with our expectations. I’m still early in my investing journey, but I think it’s better to focus on learning how to do research and TA skills, and developing patience instead of chasing overnight stuff. The way I see it, I’d rather become a millionaire in 10 years than spend the next 10 years stuck at my job and then wondering what could’ve been because I wasn’t patient enough.

You’re spot on about the personality type. The good thing is that this obsession with winning can be redirected into other things too e.g., being the most present dad possible, building stuff, or exploring and obsessing over other areas that could bring fulfillment. What helps me sometimes is just turning my brain off from that one thing and jumping into something else for a bit. A little variety in terms of obsessions.
