I found this saying to be so true. When I first got sober I had to feel everything I’d been numbing. Anyone else experience this?! #recoverysesh #RecoveryPosse #SoberOctober
@cgraw1 Took some time going from victim to survivor, now that’s all behind me and I’m just living a great life
@cgraw1 Oh, for sure Christina. Years of piling alcohol on top of my feelings and problems left me totally exposed to reality when I stopped!
@cgraw1 Absolutely. I’m processing feelings (and PTSD) going back to the death of my newborn son in 2005 that I’ve never addressed along with my husband’s death last year.
@cgraw1 Yes me...I was numbing all feeling by drinking...anything happy sad or lost job or when someone said you are an alchoholic...I just used to go, but a bottle and pass out ..for the 1st time last year I had to face all types of issues..whether it is with people or money etc
@cgraw1 Initially I was but skeptic on how I will deal with daily hurdles but I went pass it and I felt confident and I actually have dealt all issues like a mature guy with out any alchohol in my body which boosted my confidence ..I figured out issues on my own
@cgraw1 Yes absolutely it was exhausting - those first few months are a blur of emotions, crying and hope! Not only are you experiencing everything you’ve shoved under some wine but also all the new stuff - processing life as it happens is very hard. It absolutely gets easier! Well done!
