Sharing this true story on infidelity: Bob and Audrey Meisner’s story is a well-known Christian testimony of forgiveness and redemption after Audrey’s brief affair resulted in a pregnancy. Background After 17 years of marriage, Bob and Audrey were pastoring a church and had three children (roughly ages 10, 13, and 15). On the surface their marriage and ministry looked strong, but underneath there were issues with communication and emotional distance. The Affair Audrey became involved with a family friend. The affair lasted about three weeks. She later described feeling deeply convicted and ended it. She confessed to Bob. They began a painful process of counseling, honesty, and deciding whether the marriage could survive. The Pregnancy A short time later they learned Audrey was pregnant. Bob had previously had a vasectomy, so they both knew the child was conceived during the affair. The doctor immediately asked if they wanted to continue the pregnancy. Bob answered “Yes” without hesitation. Audrey was terrified. She knew the baby would be biracial and that the affair would become publicly known. She privately considered abortion and even contacted a clinic. She also prayed for a miscarriage at one point. Her father told her something that stayed with her: “This is what you did, but it isn’t who you are.” Bob’s Decision Bob initially wrestled with anger and a desire to punish her. Counselors and others advised him to consider adoption or ending the marriage. Instead, he chose to stay and raise the child. One pastor framed it as: “There is a baby on your doorstep. What do you do?” Bob later said his motivation shifted from being “right” to loving and taking responsibility: the child was innocent and needed a father. They eventually left their church community because of the toxicity and scrutiny and relocated. Naming the Child When their son was born (October 7, 2001), Bob gave him his own first name: Robert Theodore Meisner. • He named him Robert so the boy would never question whose son he was. • The middle name Theodore means “divine gift” (or “gift of God”). Bob and Audrey have repeatedly said he is not an accident, a mistake, or merely the result of an affair—he is a gift from God, just like their other children. The older siblings welcomed him. The family has consistently described him as fully one of them. Later Years The Meisners stayed together, rebuilt their marriage with greater honesty and intimacy, and went on to minister to couples through Love Married Life and speaking/writing. They have described the process as slow and difficult, involving deep shame, counseling, and learning to cover each other rather than expose or punish. They credit God’s grace and wise counsel for the restoration.

People do not understand the size and scale of the Terrafab Musk had in mind. From TSMC’s point of view it is a huge risk. What if the demand failed to materialize? Of course it is also a huge opportunity which is why you are seeing what you are seeing today. Another thing to keep in mind is Musk does not necessarily need the most advanced chips. He just need lots of chips. This he does not necessarily need the most advanced fabs which makes the technical challenges much less. During Covid it was the lack of chips for automobiles that was the greatest headache for supply chains. That is what Musk is trying to resolve.

It is not that Musk thinks it is easy. It is that Musk goals with SpaceX and Tesla and the number of chip needed are astronomical. But for TSMC it is highly risky to build fabs and expand capacity because what if the Musk fails and the demand does not materialize? Thus a joint venture does make sense. Also, Musk needs a variety of chips and not necessarily the most advanced so it is not as hard as making leading edge 2nm chips. In addition Musk’s idea for the Terrafab with everything in house at one location and fast failures and fast iterations just might work.

China cares about relations with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States. It cares about transit through the Res Sea to Europe. It cares about the views of countries in South and SE Asia. The Houthis was a bad card for the Iranian regime to play but they played it and they became too much of a liability for China.

Not really. Cannot speak for Western Europe but the U.S. is doing just fine. And when the Philippines was under U.S. rule, it was one of the richest country in Asia. And East Asia and parts of SE Asia improved a lot since the end of WW2 (actually even longer) because they westernized. A pity East Asia not reproducing these days. Why do you hate the West so much?
