@Delta When SAS was not able to help, Imani went into full Superwoman mode, managed to get me rebooked through Delta. I went from a travel nightmare to a happy ending, and she was positive, optimistic, calm, helpful and cheerful throughout. I hope you appreciate this amazing employee!

@Delta I just want to give a public shout out to *Imani* in Terminal A at Boston-Logan Airport. When my flight was so delayed I was going to miss my connection, she first walked me through trying to get re-routed on SAS (the airline I was ticketed through)...

It is a profound honor to testify today at the @CECCgov's hearing on China's transnational repression and share our family's story. Regrettably, my sister #GulshanAbbas and my in-laws' plight is just one among many under the #CCP's #UyghurGenocide and TNR. Urgent action is imperative to protect not only my family but also the millions of Uyghurs and the world at large. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Chairman Smith, Chairman @SenJeffMerkley, and the Committee Members for granting me the opportunity to speak. #FreeGulshanAbbas #EndUyghurGenocide

Interviewers often ask who inspires me. @khalida_popal is one of those people. This amazing profile by @JulietMacur will tell you why. nytimes.com/2023/09/14/spo…

"My journey and contribution to this world have always been driven by a greater purpose, something bigger and greater than myself. What I have achieved and will achieve in my life is the result of collective efforts. It's a team of good-hearted people that I am truly grateful for. Today's must read: a powerful profile piece in @nytimes about Khalida Popal, one of our 2021 Lantos Human Rights Prize laureates. @khalida_popal co-founded the Afghan women's national football (soccer) team. She helped rescue more than 200 female players and their families after the fall of Kabul. She continues to fight for their right to represent Afghanistan on the world sports stage and, more broadly, she is fighting for women's rights and human rights everywhere. nytimes.com/2023/09/14/spo…

@LantosFndn @IrwinCotler @TheRWCHR .@IrwinCotler is a stellar choice for the 2023 @LantosFndn Prize. I met him one year out of law school & immediately knew as an aspiring #HumanRights lawyer I wanted to grow up to be just like him. I've been #blessed to have him as a mentor and friend for 20+ years. @TheRWCHR

What an honour! We are so proud of our founder @IrwinCotler for being named the 2023 @LantosFndn Human Rights Prize recipient, its highest #humanrights distinction. Read the full #announcement here: raoulwallenbergcentre.org/en/news/2023-0…

Read this @globeandmail article about our distinguished 2023 Lantos Prize recipient @IrwinCotler: "...If we had just a few more of [Irwin] in the world today, we would be in a better place.” We couldn't agree more! theglobeandmail.com/canada/article… @TheRWCHR

A giant of the human rights movement, @IrwinCotler has won freedom for numerous high-profile prisoners of conscience, earning him the well-deserved moniker of “Freedom’s counsel”. There is truly no one more deserving of the Lantos Prize, which will be bestowed in DC in October.

Read our full statement calling on the Chinese government to #FreeGulshanAbbas: lantosfoundation.org/news/2023/6/12… "A birthday is usually cause for celebration with friends and family. Tragically, no such celebration will take place today, June 12, for Gulshan Abbas and her family."

Today Dr. Gulshan Abbas turns 61, marking her fifth birthday unjustly imprisoned. Her only "crime" is that she is a Uyghur, as well as the sister of Uyghur activist @rushanabbas. Today we urge you to add your voice to the growing chorus demanding that China #FreeGulshanAbbas.
