#FactCheck: the version of Robodebt now the subject of the Royal Commission was NOT started by Labor as Dutton is claiming.
@cheryl_kernot I have made a detailed thread that proves exactly what you are saying. I am thoroughly disgusted by the putrid people who shift blame onto innocent people for the worst government program in history

@cheryl_kernot @heyjimmy299 Does Dutton ever know any real or true facts.. it seems he never gets it right....
@cheryl_kernot Robodebt was introduced by Christian Porter in July 2016.
@cheryl_kernot @PeterCronau I hope they also look at the sneaky policy from 2016 where they made it so Centrelink can chase indefinitely for debts without them being statute barred. Robodebt was egregious, but they still harass people routinely.
@cheryl_kernot Data Matching was a joint Taxation and Social security initiative in 90s. Legislative rules then governed matching logic. LNP broke rules and logic to help their rhetoric isolating and penalising disadvantage, calling wolves for debt recovery.
@cheryl_kernot It was pioneered by Bill Shorten and Tanya Plibersek in 2016.
@cheryl_kernot It kinda was - but let’s not let #Facts get in the way of a good RC - a few lawyers need a new Porsche or Reno…
@cheryl_kernot Like other LNP Pollies, Dutton has a loose association with the truth.
