Elon Musk has made it clear from the very beginning that Starlink is for peaceful use, not long-range drone strikes. He deserves enormous credit for helping Ukraine stay connected through this war. His Starlink support was a major factor in why Ukraine was NOT overrun by Russia.

I think it's weird how few people are troubled by the gist of Sayed's Islamophobia defense. If you say that asking about support for the Muslim Brotherhood is an Islamophobic attack on your religion, then at some level you're suggesting -- or at least encouraging the inference -- that the MB's form of Islam defines or informs your interpretation of Islam. There are lots of Muslims that don't subscribe to the MB version and when you ask them about the Muslim Brotherhood, they don't respond by saying "how dare you attack my religion?"

Correct. Using Starlink, a civilian commercial service, for offensive drone strikes to kill people has never been allowed, nor should it be. Starshield, a different system, is controlled by the US government. What they decide to do is up to them. Ukraine military violated Starlink terms of service and used it for offensive drone strikes to kill people. That loophole was closed last week. Starlink remains critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now. Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact. Starlink was also crucial to preventing Russia from overrunning Ukraine in the early days of the war, as all other means of communication were destroyed or jammed by Russia. SpaceX has done more to defend Ukraine than any private company on Earth BY FAR. That said, I have nothing but UTTER CONTEMPT for the virtue-signaling evil warmongers who push for endless slaughter and offer no realistic solution to the conflict. May you burn in hell. End of story.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Canadians love - want to be governed. There is such a dependency on the state. In the Alberta referendum, majority of voters voted to keep the unelected senate. They voted for unelected people to have legislative powers over them. They literally voted against a democratic choice thus they voted against a democracy. You couldn't even begin to convince an American that unelected people should have powers over them before you get thrown out. The average Canadian supports basic dictatorship.

Ireland put the tweeter on trial, not the groper I cannot believe the resources the state has mustered to go after a guy for making a tweet. I'm writing this on the lunch break of Kirk Loco's trial in Bray, County Wicklow, about an hour south of Dublin. Kirk is being prosecuted for a tweet warning young women about migrant men harassing girls on a public bus. The tweet was true. And the man he warned about was in the courtroom today as the prosecution's main witness. I can't identify him. He's a refugee claimant, and the lawyers and police warned me not to say anything that could reveal who he is. I'll say only that he needed an Arabic translator. He testified he did nothing wrong, that he was just looking for a place to plug in his phone. Then he said his phone fell on the floor, which is why he got up and sat down next to the teenage girls. He never explained why he moved from the seat in front of them to the seat beside them, blocking the aisle. According to the girl, he groped her, his belt was undone and his pants were so low his pubic hair was visible. She was so frightened she fled downstairs on the double-decker bus. How do we know all this? There were about 10 CCTV cameras on that bus. They show him moving back and forth around the girl. They show that when the bus stopped and it was clear he was in trouble, he went to the back and played possum. Thirty-eight seconds from chatting to another passenger to out cold. The driver testified he was obviously faking. Asked about that, he told the court: “I'm known as a very quick sleeper.” I've been to 100 trials in my life, maybe more, and I don't think I've ever seen a shiftier witness. He took two or three positions on every question and switched mid-answer. I don't think the judge was buying it either. Laoise de Brún, the barrister we're crowdfunding for Kirk, sliced and diced him on cross-examination. It was like shooting fish in a barrel. Then a senior Garda took the stand and talked about the refugee accommodation at Newtownmountkennedy. He described the migrant men there as “vulnerable.” Irish teenage girls are allegedly being harassed, and the men are the vulnerable ones? He also described an incident where men from that centre were filming young girls at a sporting event. His response was to have them delete the videos — he deleted the evidence. There's a term in psychology, DARVO: deny, attack, reverse victim and offender. That's what I watched today. The whole system is upside down. The hero of this story, according to the prosecution, is a man who admitted touching this girl and having his pants down. The villain is the man who warned the neighbourhood. This is Kirk's 10th court appearance. He faces possible jail. The trial is only half over, and I'll have more from inside the courtroom. SpaceX has just officially received FCC approval to acquire three additional spectrum licenses from Tristar to expand its upcoming next-gen @Starlink Mobile network. The licenses cover 15 MHz of spectrum in the 1695–1710 MHz band. The FCC also granted waivers allowing SpaceX to use the spectrum for satellite communications instead of building traditional cell towers. This approval comes just two weeks after SpaceX announced an agreement to acquire nationwide 800 MHz low-band spectrum to improve indoor coverage and outlined plans to combine its satellite constellation with terrestrial infrastructure. Starlink Mobile will become the first network operator to deploy both satellite and terrestrial spectrum: "One network that provides Americans with a reliable service indoors, outdoors, in cellular dead zones, and everywhere in between."

What he fails to mention is that that Starlink has never authorized its use to attack inside of Russian territory & that the CAF & several other federal agencies, inside of Canada don’t use Starlink for anything other than reliable emergency communications which are critical. Carney also falls to mention that Telesat, if everything goes to plan, will not be capable of providing full coverage of the Arctic & Northern Canada for 8-10 years so guess what will continue to be used until then? Finally Carney fails to mention that what failed Ukraine was Starshield which is controlled exclusively by the US military. Just as a side note he also fails to mention that without our access to secure US military satellites, the CAF would be blind & incapable of operating inside or outside of Canada & many of our weapons systems (including one recently bought by the Carney gov) won’t/can’t function. This is just another example of appearing to do something antiTrump without doing anything more than spending money & making grand pronouncements!

Good question. Someone sent me this: Hi Eva, I've been following the published referendum results on the Elections Alberta page (as updated on the CBC website). I'm curious that I think that there were originally 5,585 polls to report (or maybe I was having a brain fart and it was only 5,575 polls to report). In any case, this morning there seem to be only 5,560 polls in total. What happened to the other 15 or 25 polls? Does that mean that 15 or 25 polls there were no votes received and so these polls were redundant? Why is Elections Alberta shaving off the number of total polls (even if these are only a fraction of the total polls announced). I know it's not a game changer. Do you have a perspective that can help me understand this statistical oddity? Update: I see now that the total of polls reported has dropped down from 5,466 to 5,319. And the number of total polls to report is now down to 5,552. Who knows what is going on.
