From early on, I printed & saved every case I did in training. This creature (The Binder) grew to monstrous proportions. In it are fluoros,templates,drawings, & technique notes. I still add to it occasionally. In digital age, would still recommend this exercise to every resident.

Where were you 35 years ago? On this March-24th (1987), the greatest revolution in the history of Aortic Surgery began. Prof. Nikolay Volodos implanted the first aortic endograft-TEVAR, to repair a pseudoaneurysm in the distal aorta in a 53-year-old male who lived for more 18y.

This has blown my mind …. A great deal of TAVI or TEVAR strokes is caused by micro bubbles in the systems and not necessarily by microemboli… and there is a way to sort this out flushing with CO2… #TCT2021 #cardiotwitter … maybe that’s why cerebral protection dev don’t work?
