Swift is 10 years old today: github.com/apple/swift/co… Pretty amazing how far things have come in such a short time!
Just to clarify, it is 10 years since the first lines of code written in secret. The public launch was in June 2014 at WWDC, and the open source release in December 2015. Time flies. Such a great team. So much left to do!
@clattner_llvm Woah... I had no idea Swift was in development that long! That means I was only six 😳
@clattner_llvm Interesting that the first commit used the name Swift. Where did the name come from?
@clattner_llvm Wait really? You started Swift on my birthday, interesting!
@clattner_llvm I enjoy pulling up the video of WWDC14 and watching the audience reaction to the announcement of “a new programming language”. It was an honor to be backstage (network support) for that launch. Thanks for making a programming language my brain can understand!
@clattner_llvm Congratulations to the Swift team! I write Swift code almost every day and I think it’s a great language. Clean, neat, precise, easy to read.
@clattner_llvm Swift is surprisingly straight forward logically with ease of use. Swift may become very much popular than today in next 5 years. Kudos to you, Sir!
@clattner_llvm Finally those recruiters looking for devs with 10 years of experience in Swift can find someone.
@clattner_llvm Thank you @clattner_llvm and the team for swift. It’s a pleasure to use. I’d love see a push to enable backend developers to use swift.
@clattner_llvm Congrats #AppleSilicon will make it even more amazing.
@clattner_llvm No async await feature yet :( Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
@clattner_llvm I wish there are more tutorial on how to build macos app with swift
