Here's a quick video showing the game running on an iPhone X. Really smooth overall, and this is on a 4+ year old device, and I haven't done almost any performance optimization work yet 😀 SwiftUI continues to impress me!

I’m sure I’ve seen a longer list, including associated-but-not-necessarily-opposite words as well, but now I can’t find it
I know this is like screaming into the void, because somehow we are still getting this wrong: if you’re an iOS developer using a string format to create dates, then
- Do not use “YYYY”
- Do not use “yyyy” either
- Use “y”, which will be correct in all locales
I’m happy to see MLCommons release both a multilingual speech dataset and a large 30,000 hour diverse english dataset. We need more open datasets like these to help researchers build speech systems that can serve many individuals around the world. 🗺️

This is one case of a general set of really handy math tricks. I'll explain what's going on at an intuitive level in this thread and give the other tricks.

IMO the two most important transformations for performant code are Array of Structs to Struct of Arrays and Loop Fusion to Loop Fission. The 1st is essential for cache perf and the 2nd breaks data dependencies and often unlocks more optimizations that were not obvious before.
