Devo-Max is rejected by Scots, new poll shows, but a third would want to see it on a three option ballot instead of a repeat of 2014 (though a majority want a straight repeat) #buyapaper tomorrow to read the full story on @TheScotsman/@scotonsunday
Just as people are questioning my maths, 55% want a straight repeat of IndyRef1, 32% support three-option, the rest don't know. (This is from memory, I wrote the story on Thursday and it's Saturday night and I'm six drinks down while in the Yorkshire Dales...)
@conor_matchett @TheScotsman @scotonsunday A third? So, two thirds wouldn't?
@conor_matchett @TheScotsman @scotonsunday 66% do not want a third question on devo max on paper. Basically Scots want a straight yes or no. Simple!🏴
@conor_matchett @TheScotsman @scotonsunday I would think that a journalist would know to replace "but a third" to "and two thirds" in your tweet to reinforce the points that devo max is rejected and 2/3 don't even want it on ballot !!
@conor_matchett @TheScotsman @scotonsunday There won't be a ballot so sorry to be a party pooper 💩 but it's just not going to happen. Nicola and Alex both confirmed once in a lifetime so never, there you go. Straight from both of the SNP 🐟🐟👍
@conor_matchett @TheScotsman @scotonsunday I think it is a distraction. I am thinking radical thoughts and I am now thinking that we develop a strategy of’Indy lite’ - which delivers the imperative of breaking the political link with Westminster but is less threatening to middle of the road voters.
