If anything, South Korean leftists and liberals tend to have negative views of Protestant Christianity due to sociocultural and political issues, while often viewing Buddhism more favorably.
A lot of foreigners seem to be drawing connections between South Korea's religious map and its regional political divisions, but the two are actually unrelated. There is no particular tendency for Buddhists to vote for the PPP or Christians to vote for the DP.
