How HIV Self-Tests Work

What it is: PrEP is a medicine taken daily (as a pill) or as an injection every two months by people who don't have HIV to help prevent them from getting HIV.
How it works: When taken consistently as prescribed, it takes about 7 days of daily use to reach maximum protection.

Common symptoms include:
.a cough that lasts more than 3 weeks – you may cough up mucus (phlegm) or mucus with blood in it
