Gemini, Jupiter, a full Moon, Orion, and Sirius. Quite a sky full of impressive objects in the eastern sky! Enjoy!

Congratulations to Jesus--Porter HS graduate and one of only a few undergraduates in the nation to give a talk at AAS. Go Cowboys!

They are releasing a new version of Cosmos on fox in March. Greatest show ever.

Venus is so hot you could cook a 16" pepperoni pizza on on your windowsill in three seconds.

He is describing how he discovered Superman's home planet and got featured in a DC comic. Science is crossing over into popular culture.

Greetings Earthlings! Hello from 2014 AAS meeting. Hearing Nei degrasse Tyson talking about why he uses Twitter.

60 billion planets could support life in the Milky Way alone. Put that in your Drake Equation pipe and smoke it.

Cosmicmill is doing well. Settling in to my new situation. Will try to keep more action alive in twitterverse! Miss you all! Love you too!

Remember Antares is the "rival of Ares(Mars)"! It looks red because it's a red giant star. Mars looks red because it's rusted!

Moon, Venus, and Antares. Perfect equilateral triangle! Look quick or u will miss it!

Latest news is UT system will support STARGATE program with funds! One step closer to getting SpaceX here!!! Exciting stuff!

IAU may start letting people vote for and even suggest names for new solar systems and exoplanets. Great way to get more people involved!

Whoa SpaceX! Grasshopper has lateral moves!

I was lucky enough to meet Boruki at astro conference before Kepler launch. Super nice unassuming guy. 3548 possible planets found. So cool.

A big shock but William Boruki--project PI says telescope still works. Just have to find new way to use it. Maybe just see what passes by!

Biggest news for me today is the Kepler mission as originally conceived is no more. Bad gyros. Can't point accurately or find new Earths.

Thanks to Marissa and Sarah for inspiring me to get back to the twitterverse. But enough about me--what's happening out in the universe?

But life is about change and it was time for me to move on--just like so many of my students have moved on over the years.

Moved into another. Thanks and love to all my students at Porter. It was a wonderful eight years. Part of me will always be a Cowboy!

Hey everyone! Cosmicmill is back! It has been a crazy-busy summer. One day off from school. Astronomy Ambassadors. Moved out of one school
