@QTHESTORMM @ObedtStNGreene KILL AND EAT YOUR NEIGHBORS

You can imagine some poor Birt being pushed to his limits by American wizards and their wands. Haida shaman: Red cedar and a feather from the first raven Brit: Wow, that's amazing, but.... Lumberjack wizard: Douglas fir and the gutstrings of an exploded gumbaroo! Brit: Wow. That's quite some... Dine/Navajo wizard: Desert juniper and skinwalker hide. Brit: Ha! Wait...are you serious? Lakota Wizard: The lodgepole pine of this wand was taken from an arrow that killed a man from the Seventh Calvary at Little Bighorn and has a core of sacred white buffalo hair. Brit: Um...Wow, that's kinda... Prospector Wizard: That ain't nuttin' pardner! (Spits) This here wand is made from creosote timbers from the cursed Dutchman mine and the tongue of the Bear Lake monster! Brit: Well that's certainly... Southern gambler wizard: Amatuers. Let me show you the wand of a real professional. (Pulls slowly from a leather holster) The wood is from the notched rosewood gun handle that killed John Hardin and the core is a fiber from the rope that hung Nat Turner. Especially good at curses and divination. Brit: Merlin's Beard!! Do you Americans have no standards or regulations?! Where is your ministry of wandmaking?! Prospector Wizard: Oh, that reminds me! If the Bureau of Wands, Orbs and Potions comes asking, I lost this wand in a boating accident. Others nodding: Same. Ditto.

North American wands would be the most cursed shit imaginable. Like “Yeah it’s made from sugar maple and bigfood ballhair” “Wait say that again?” “Oh, sugar maple, yeah the wand is a bit sweet sometimes-“ “No the other one”

A Cornish pasty was built so that a man a mile underground with arsenic on his hands could eat a hot dinner holding it by a handle he then threw away. The crust is the point. A proper one is shortcrust rolled thick enough to survive a shift in a tin miner's jacket, crimped along one side into a thick rope of pastry that stays cold while the middle stays hot. The miner held the crimp, ate the rest, and dropped the crimp down the shaft for the knockers, the spirits of the mine, which was the polite name for keeping the arsenic out of his mouth. Inside was skirt of beef, chopped not minced, with potato, swede and onion, all raw, sealed in and cooked together so the beef fat ran through the vegetables and the juice stayed in the case. No gravy, because gravy leaks. A good one had the initials of the man it belonged to cut into the corner so the right pasty got to the right miner. Some had meat at one end and jam at the other, and you knew which end from the mark. It fed Cornwall's miners for two centuries, and when the mines died the miners took it to Mexico, to Michigan, to South Australia, and there are pasty shops in all three to this day with Cornish names over the door. The thing about it is how much of the animal was in it. Skirt is the diaphragm, a cut the supermarket will not stock, cheap, hard-working, full of flavour and fat, and the whole dinner was built round it. The vegetables were there to stretch the beef and soak up what it gave off. Since 2011 the name has been protected by law, which means the pasty in the motorway services, made with minced beef, a glossy lid and a filling that was cooked before it went in, can only call itself Cornish if it is made in Cornwall, and some of the worst of them are. The miner's dinner was a cut of beef in a pastry handle. The modern one is a pastry handle looking for the beef.

I was a paid moderator on the BioWare forums, easy part time gig while teaching After closing endless threads on GamerGate I finally looked up this @Sargon_of_Akkad guy and that’s how I discovered online politics BioWare earned this by insisting on making woke trash

Remember when the GOP lost their minds at me for saying Vivek would turn Ohio blue when I ran against him?

absolute Indian excellence all over the tl today, just amazing

@NolletsThe Granted, if we ever get more ship modules, two boosts that all turrets should get are 1) IFF protocols and 2) target prioritization based on turret type. Rockets/AC target heavies, gatling targets chaff, etc

This is reminiscent of the early 2000s debates about Islam, when some libtard Muslim (or the President of the United States) would say that Islam is a religion of peace, only to be contradicted by some cleric who is far more authentic and reliant on authoritative sources.

@RepJayapal Didn't you publicly defecate by the side of a road and get caught on film doing so?

@ObedtStNGreene @KaiserLoengramm okay

@nora_diver Not to mention that the terrain often doesn't allow meaningful engagements at >100m

Elle me nargue.

Flabbergasted that Vivek Ramaswamy, down in the polls and almost certain to lose a state Trump won by +11 points, thought he could clutch victory from the jaws of defeat by getting his opponent’s estranged mother, who stayed with the man who raped her when she was twelve, to badmouth her as a liar in campaign ads just before the election. This is Ramaswamy’s ace in the hole, his Hail Mary. Ramaswamy has no sense for decorum, no theory of mind for the average voter, and it is this total lack of grace and sensitivity that led him to thoughtlessly excoriate American workers as sluggish and replaceable two Christmases ago, thinking it would play well with the base. Other politicians might have contempt for their constituents, but they know not to broadcast this fact, to keep it somewhat under wraps. Ramaswamy still has no idea why he is losing.

@amyactonoh @BasedTorba You aren't either, but I'm glad to see Vivek lose

@RupertLowe10 Noblesse oblige.

@I4NFTS I also loathe hangovers so feeling the physical benefits helps

@I4NFTS Allen Carr's "Easy Way to Stop Drinking" helped me at least grow in moderation I had to learn to ask the question "will this help me love my (wife/child/etc)?" and that helps with perspective & control
