This removes two major pain points at once: the need for a traditional bank account and the friction of manually moving money between fiat and crypto. Accounts get frozen, withdrawals paused, or—worst case—the company goes under and user funds disappear. A non-custodial model like @avici removes that entire layer of risk. What makes $AVICI interesting to me isn’t just the card or the early traction. It’s the structure of the product they’re building and how different it is from the rest of the payment sector in crypto. Most projects build a card first and figure out the infrastructure later. Avici did the opposite. The card is simply the first visible layer of a much deeper system: banking rails, stablecoin settlement, non-custodial wallets, on-chain credit, and IBAN accounts that convert fiat directly into crypto the moment it arrives. This is closer to a crypto-native bank than a card company. The second reason I’m bullish is how much friction Avici removes for actual users. Being able to receive a salary or business payment in fiat, have it auto-convert to USDC, and spend it globally from your own wallet solves a set of problems that almost every crypto user has dealt with for years. Most teams never attempt this because of regulatory, technical, and operational difficulty. Another key point is the sustainability of the model. Avici doesn’t rely on speculative token emissions or yield games to grow. The revenue comes from real activity: Visa interchange, FX spread, premium tiers, and eventually lending.
