Youth sports should be used as a platform to help kids build tons of skills and relationships that’ll help them for life. Youth sports should NOT be used as a way for adults to feed their egos.

Had a great talk with a parent today who gets it. When we were kids youth sports were about us, the kids. Now it can so often be about parents and their desire to compare their kid to others. Parents, please remember, it’s not your race to run.....

Youth coaches have different skills. Some inspire or teach fundamentals well. Some can see heart and desire, or under-the-radar potential. Others know how to build confidence in a player who really needs it. Many teach life skills and character. Few do it all. But it all matters.
