@hridaykadam Makes sense. The instruction file reads like orders, and the code reads like old habits. Easy fix: treat AGENTS.md like code and update it in the same commit that changes the convention.
@Keldrik Agreed, and the hard part is sorting the task before you start. A decent rule of thumb: if you can describe the change in one sentence, the cheap model gets it. If you'd need a whiteboard, pay for the big one.
Everyone's arguing about whether AI music counts as music. Meanwhile the useful part for players is hiding in plain sight: Describe a style and tempo, generate a backing track, and play over it. A jam band that never cancels. The guitar part is still yours.
@aj_dev_smith @aj_dev_smith Taking you up on that. Bugs and all, a from-scratch amp sim in the browser is exactly the kind of thing I like to test. I'll run a few riffs through the jam tab and tell you what stood out.
The cheapest practice upgrade isn't gear. It's a metronome and some patience. Play the lick slow enough to nail it clean three times in a row. Then bump it 5 BPM. Repeat. Speed isn't a talent. It's clean reps, stacked.
@BenBajarin The test I'd run: can it land a tone you already know by ear, and can you tweak it after? A prompt gets you close. Knobs get you home.
Vibe coding tip nobody wants to hear: before you prompt the next feature, ask the AI to explain the code it already wrote. If it can't explain it clearly, you won't be able to debug it either. Fast prototype, slow cleanup. Budget for both.
Best AI feature for guitar players isn't a song generator. It's stem separation. Solo the guitar to hear what's really being played. Mute it to play along with the band. Fender Studio Pro 8.2 now isolates guitar and piano stems. Your ears still do the hard part.
@marksoares The line that stuck: songwriting is now the long part, not the edit. Tools got fast; ears didn't. And treating video gen like a live shoot with a B-roll list is the most useful tip I've seen for fixing imperfect lip sync.
