Sprouts is now charging for bags. I declined and carried my 6-10 items out in the hand basket thing, planning on bringing it right back in. Then I realized, I can just keep it and bring it back the next time I'm here. Zero plastic used. I'm a green hero.
@danmmeyer They did this last year in Dallas. We quit going due to the prices too.
@danmmeyer This is already an issue wherever bags cost (itemized) money. A Target near me stopped people from taking the small baskets out of the store; shopping carts were ok because fewer of them got removed beyond the parking lot.
@danmmeyer Everything in that basket is plastic wrapped. Did you not notice?
@danmmeyer I’ve thought about doing this. I just don’t want to store a handcart in my truck.
@danmmeyer Regressing back to those nasty pre-covid cloth bags no one ever washes is soon to follow, yuck. At least you can Lysol a plastic basket.
@danmmeyer I saw someone online put a laundry basket inside their cart to fill and then had the checker put everything back in the laundry basket to take home. Seems easy :)
@danmmeyer I assume there are some people here telling you that used to be called theft.
