‘Creative Light makes the world a reality: illuminating light makes it knowable. In the absence of illuminating light, nothing can be known and no advantage can be gained, not the "open-mindedness" that relativists assume, or the "broad-mindedness" that skeptics suppose, nor the "freedom from discomfort" that cynics presume, or the "abyss of freedom" that deconstructionists allege. If nothing can be known on an intellectual level, then nothing can be gained on a practical one. “If your eye is worthless, your whole body will be in darkness." In dealing with the question concerning whether it was fitting that light was made on the first day, Aquinas, with his customary directness and simplicity. states: "That without which there could not be day. must have been made on the first day." Just as there can be no day without light, so too, there can be no education without intellectual enlightenment. Consequently, the various sins against the light; relativism, skepticism, cynicism and nihilism - are also sins against education.’ Donald DeMarco “The Darkening of the Intellect: Four Ways of Sinning Against the Light,” in The Common Things ed. Daniel McInerny (1999), 69–80.

‘What the public wants’ = Rousseau’s ‘General Will’ - the tyranny of Democracy. What the Constitutional Republic IS = self governance under popular sovereignty which is not about preference and will. It is the responsible, accountable act of agency in upholding and defending what has already been constituted and is non-negotiable. It is not for ‘majority will’ to negate in operation. Modern politics confounds this and if all anyone has ever learned about is ‘the Party system’ and not what the Founders established and why, then they’ve not heeded the warnings of Washington’s Farewell Speech and have had their minds malformed by the propaganda of the Hegelian State.

@FiatLuxGenesis I was just thinking a similar thought. The idea of a Republic, with separation of powers makes sense. We have elected reps, and 2 senators from small states. But pure democracy could only mean mob rule. This is what 1/2 the country wants.

Sen. Elissa Slotkin just said that he wants to prosecute everyone who works for President Trump and that her goal is for young conservatives coming out of school to be afraid of working in a Republican administration

No - Article 4, Sec 4. Mechanisms of warfare through institutional capture and hostile occupation do not change what is, constitutively. Illegitimate actions require identifying as such and - action taken to remove what is illegitimate. That generations have failed to do this and have (through warfare operationalized across the levels of Education & Professional Training) been rendered blind and deaf to what is illegitimate - does not change what the Constitutional Republic is. It shows what must be removed and what the education and training needs at scale, throughout civic infrastructure are.

@maryjoanderson3 We are primarily a democracy. When senators started being elected by popular vote instead of being chosen state legislatures, it was over.

Every Democrat legislator yesterday demanded American citizens be disarmed because a criminal committed a crime, while today we find out that a senator is saying, out loud, that she wants to prosecute every Republican member of any Republican administration to keep Republicans from participating in government. These two things are not unrelated…

Having spent a little time in the Middle East, I found that the species “Islamicus Terroristucus” while easily agitated and prone to destructive behavior, becomes rather docile and compliant when a rifle is shoved in their face. Too harsh? Imagine Sir Attenborough saying it.

@linuxhippie They are what they do.

It was not James who discovered the role of SCSR in the American Founding - specifically in its informing of the first principles and jurisdictional grammar of the Declaration of Independence. It was me - about 3 yrs ago. I shared my findings first with @CourtenayTurner & @ClassicLibera12 at that time. Michael O Fallon and James Lindsay began mentioning it in brief through the following year I think and a little bit at the Cognitive Liberty Conference Courtenay organized and chaired. The work on SCSR originated with me, not with James and I am not an acolyte - of anyone!! - as those who engage my work deeply will recognize. My work on SCSR is not political - it is ontological, pertaining specifically to the antecedent foundations of what makes unalienable rights ‘unalienable’ and what ‘we hold these truths self evident’ means in practise jurisdictionally. I think Michael O Fallon was aware of SCSR some years prior but afaik, it had not informed his research or proposals over the years I’ve been aware of his work. As I’ve written in response to you a number of times Mike, what you’ve written and continue to write about SCSR is in error. I know you have your reasons for doing that, grounded in a desire to forward specific Protestant theology which anathematizes Aristotle especially. I also understand why the roots of the movement of Protestantism you uphold did that. As I’ve repeatedly stated on this platform - I’m not interested in theological denominational conflicts and I engage theologically insofar as is necessary to show the foundations of the Declaration of Independence in operation throughout civic infrastructure. As for the current state of Scotland - what a ridiculous remark. As you’re well aware, the British Parliamentary Crown and the EU (Soviet) systems control what occurs there and they have controlled the institutions there ever since SCSR was itself eclipsed in the Academy on both sides of the Atlantic. I can’t stop you from conflating so many errors - you have the liberty to write and say anything you want to and it is for individuals on here to put the effort in to gaining awareness and understanding. Those who’ve remained deeply engaged with my work will see where at the deepest causal level I am not in alignment with James’ work, nor he with my work - but you’d have to have a sure grasp of root foundations to recognize how and why. If you’re still calling my work ‘politically liberal’ you don’t understand it at all. I’m very aware of the root foundations you and I are in deep disagreement on and I have been deliberate in letting you get on with your own work in peace. We are aligned on many things what we want to see stopped and removed and I respect that. We are not at all aligned on root causes, diagnostics, restoration and recovery. That is very clear. Lumping my work in with that of others who are not at all coming from where I am - is a big misdirection. Great way to attempt to neutralize it - and I can’t prevent anyone from doing that. I have no personal beef with you or with anyone. I don’t form social alliances. I loathe this platform and am not political. What you repeatedly and deliberately omit when you wilfully misrepresent SCSR are the genealogies informing it ontologically and epistemologically - and it’s that deeper Scholastic genealogy which SCSR carried forward into the civic infrastructure and governance which of course, your own particular theological affiliations understandably determine here as they are in opposition to that genealogy which the American Founders upheld, defended and encoded into the Declaration and I also remember you’re aversion to precisely what the Founders established. I don’t think you’re going to stop doing this👇and it doesn’t help that the population at large has been so deracinated. I wish you well in your endeavours to fight the Marxism where and when you can. I don’t support where that entails negation of what the Founders established.

I followed James Lindsay for a long time. I've been in this fight probably about as long as him, and we came from extremely similar places in terms of Atheism, Liberalism, and so on. I nearly shared a stage with him in Nashville about three years ago. It must be a year or two
