This Day In 1988: SI photographer VJ Lovero takes a picture of Mariners No. 1 pick Ken Griffey Jr. in his San Bernadino Spirits uniform. The following year, Upper Deck chooses Griffey as the No. 1 card in its inaugural set, editing his hat logo and changing the tone of blue.
