I hate the new tax rules of the NBA. Getting rid of players like Porzingis for almost nothing is not great for the fan experience.
@davidwade Why do you think Porzingis had any value? We all love the guy, but he can't stay on the floor.
@davidwade This isn’t a huge loss considering how often he actually played Probably received relative value.
@davidwade The NBA Finals was the most watched in over 6 years, and the league is MUCH more competitive than it was from 2015-2019, when two teams played each other in the Finals 4 straight years and only 3 different franchises made the Finals over that time. Yout take is bad.
@davidwade You have to penalize teams for good team-building to benefit those who suck at it
@davidwade Players voted for this. It will force teams to allocate resources to more than just stars. Real impact will be seen in the future.
@davidwade The 2023 CBA is a suicide pact. The Celtics are the team hardest hit right now so most of the fandom doesn't care. But over the next decade every team will be affected and overall interest and consumer spending on the NBA will drop. It needs to be renegotiated right now.
@davidwade Shed a tear of losing Jrue Holiday, who was a True Celtic if you were to make one in a lab. KP?!?! Never a Celtic. Red would’ve…….
@davidwade I love the unicorn. But the truth is he is too fragile. He has been useless the last two playoff seasons. It was tough but it was time.
@davidwade The big issue in this instance is the lack of salary cap exceptions for injuries like the NHL has. If Tatum was playing next season shipping out KP and Jrue is just standard roster management with a cap. But with JT out it compounds the issues of having to ship those guys out
@davidwade I mean it’s great for the hawks not so great for the Celtics it’s the leagues version of share the wealth this is how they going to keep parody in the league a multiple teams will make noise then be force to let go of a player or 2 they find a new home and rise and repeat 3yr 🔄
@davidwade Probably creates better fan experience considering large markets can't pay everyone and creates more competition throughout the league
@davidwade It is not great for the fans losing the player but pretty sweet for those getting him. But i think the rules should take into consideration home grown players. Teams that draft well should not be punished
@davidwade 100% agree! I don't know how they think this new CBA was good for the league
@davidwade Scoreboard! Bill Chisholm WORSE THAN FSG
@davidwade You're right players like him aren't good for the fan experience because he's injured so often it hurts the team.
@davidwade the rules are meant to stop rich teams from simply buying (and/or extending indefinitely when talent emerges) their way to a chip. hot take: it’s way more satisfying to win with a smart GM vs an infinite pocketbook
@davidwade "players like porzingis" you mean useless losers?
@davidwade If you've watched the red sox the last decade this is small potatoes
@davidwade Celtics having a payroll that is exponentially higher than the rest of the league is also not good for the fan experience. What’s the solution?
@davidwade Injury prone- role player, not much value
@davidwade That’s what happens when you sell out to venture capital and hedge funds. ROI is king. Wyc 2% owner and fam duped the real money man Pags for this version of FSG 2.0. JB going next. Won’t even be a playoff team next yr.
@davidwade A big chunk of Celtics twitter said he had aids…
@davidwade Unfortunately it had to happen, I don’t love or hate it. Saves the $210M in potential fines and salary. They still need to dump $7M to get under the next apron and $15M to get under the Luxury Tax
