My statement to @CNN on @ElissaSlotkin: Elissa Slotkin can pretend she's the victim all she wants, but she expressly called for the arrest of political opponents to deter their young supporters from public service. That is textbook fascism. Instead of apologizing and walking back her despicable, un-American comments, she is doubling-down. While the First Amendment allows Slotkin to make her idiotic statements, the Second Amendment deters government tyrants from actually taking illegal actions--such as deploying illegal force--against our constitutional rights. Americans won't tolerate her junior-varsity CIA tactics against American citizens.

Driving home from Nashville a few days ago, the wife wanted to stop in Franklin to do a bit of Christmas shopping. Obedient to her wishes as I am, I make the detour and park. As we strolled along the square, I see an older man sitting alone on a bench. Being the sort who initiates conversation with strangers, I say jokingly: “You look like a man who is waiting for his wife while she spends his money.” He gives me a wan smile and replies: “I wish I was.” His voice cracks. “She passed away last November.” We stop. I extend a sympathetic hand. He shakes it and rises to greet us. Lauri asks him about his wife, and he tells us what a wonderful woman she was and of their 50 years of marriage. His eyes welling with tears, he says he comes to the square and sits on that bench daily to reminisce about her because it was their spot for decades. He seems glad to have someone, even strangers, with whom he can talk. We chat a bit longer, exchange numbers, and I ask him if we can pray for him. A believer, he readily accepts the offer. So, right there on the square in Franklin we pray for the Lord’s comforting presence and peace in his loss. We open our eyes and, at that very moment, a woman walks by hurriedly and reaches for the bench behind this fellow. Only I see it, and I think she might be stealing his phone which he had left on the bench when he rose to speak with us. I walk to the bench to investigate and see that she’s left a card, a little plastic dove glued on it, proclaiming the hope of John 3:16. I look up to see her far down the sidewalk, her brisk pace undiminished, placing them everywhere in her own evangelistic endeavor. God bless her for it. Lauri and I wished our new friend well and proceeded to shop. I bought a new vest at her encouragement — “It looks good on you” — and she bought some aromatic candles — “cinnamon vanilla.” But all the while we were thinking of this man and the seemingly coincidental nature of our meeting. The Lord had used us to visibly encourage him. I cannot tell you the number of times I have had such encounters simply because I spoke to a stranger: a taxi driver who told me someone had murdered his daughter; a waitress who cried when I told her she was doing a good job; a contractor who, just last week, revealed to me how the Lord had delivered him from meth addiction when I was sharing the Gospel with him; and a young woman who looked unsettled and I simply asked her what troubled her so. There are people all around you who carry secret burdens, and the Lord puts you in their path for a reason. Do you notice them? Or do you press on to “more important” things? Pray that the Lord gives you eyes to see them and the heart to minister to them. It will do you as much good as you do them.

Trotsky – The Myth. Ask a Western leftist which communist he admires, and you often get the same answer: Trotsky. The intellectual. The orator. The true revolutionary, betrayed by Stalin. If only he had won… Look at the young Trotsky in the picture: round glasses, wild hair, burning eyes. Many young leftists today would recognize themselves in him. The look hasn’t changed. Neither has the certainty. So let’s look at what he did when he had power. Born in 1879 in what is now southern Ukraine, Trotsky was a brilliant writer and a spellbinding speaker. In October 1917, he played a central role in organizing the Bolshevik seizure of power. Then Lenin made him Commissar for War, and he built the Red Army, directing it from an armoured train that rushed from front to front. Deserters were shot. Military discipline was enforced through executions. Blocking detachments were deployed to stop retreating soldiers, and former tsarist officers recruited into the Red Army were kept under surveillance by political commissars. Their families were sometimes held hostage to guarantee their loyalty. Cruelty knows no limits when you have no doubts. In 1920, the Red Army marched on Warsaw. It was stopped on the Vistula. That same year, Trotsky published an entire book, Terrorism and Communism, explaining why revolutionary terror was necessary. He wanted labour militarized too: workers organized like soldiers, subjected to military discipline and compelled to serve the needs of the state. In 1921, the sailors of Kronstadt – once hailed as the pride of the revolution – demanded free elections to the soviets. Trotsky supported the suppression of the revolt. Thousands were killed in the assault or executed afterwards. Then he lost the power struggle to Stalin. Expelled, exiled, forced abroad. From there, he wrote that the revolution had been betrayed – by Stalin, never by himself. He ended up in Mexico City, where he stayed for a time with Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. And so the Western romance took shape: the exiled prophet, the revolutionary betrayed, the road not taken. In August 1940, a Soviet agent who had gained his confidence entered his study and struck him with an ice axe. The machine Trotsky had helped build had come for him too. His killer later received the Soviet Union’s highest honour. Trotsky was not the alternative to Stalin. He was the same machine – only with better prose. He never rejected the terror. He rejected losing control of it. The "good communist" is always the one who lost. Next: Stalin.

It is a matter of historical fact that the two groups most prone to murdering or enslaving Christians are Communism and Islam. The Democrat Party is now under the control of a marriage of convenience between literal Communists and Islamic Jihadists. This unholy alliance is popularly referred to as the "Red/Green Alliance." If you are an American Christian, know this: the Red/Green Alliance wants you dead, or enslaved, or bankrupted, or persecuted so badly that you will not be allowed to live freely in American society. They hide behind the lies of benevolence of seemingly harmless masks like Talarico. Those masks will fall as soon as they achieve power. There should not be a single adult Christian staying home for the midterms. Christians must vote like their life depends on it, because it does.

Does believing in an old earth cause some issues with Adam and Eve and the whole idea of a serpent in the garden? How do old earth Christians deal with the start of humanity? Dealing with technicalities. Eve sinned. She didn’t need to be deceived unless she knew the commandment that it was wrong to eat the apple. Otherwise, she would have just ate it. She willfully, and in clear defiance of God, sinned. Adam was present and should have stopped her. Why didn’t he? They both sinned. But Eve had already sinned in her heart and her will. Why was Eve deceived? Why didn’t God stop them if it was not part of His plan? You get the last word if you want it. Thanks for the convo.

I know a lot of people like to post about venting frustrations with the GOP by voting Democrat, showing their ballots for clicks and all - but handing your state over to Democrats means you may never get it back. Ask patriots in WA, OR, and now CO. Once they get enough power, they alter the laws to ensure the electoral system favors them and also create districts entrenching them in the legislature. So, if you have a problem with the GOP, the best thing you can do about it is to get engaged in the primary process and throw out the dead weight in the party with real candidates who aren’t owned by lobbyists and special interests. But it’s always easier to sit around online and bitch.

@willchamberlain Trump was. Republicans never have been and that was demonstrated in this last Congress. Trump lost focus and the swamp took him down.
