Is there any return from very severe/extremely severe ME?
@debbie_seymour There can be, just ensure you rest as much as possible, minimize trips for food and toilet. If possible, do find a way to lie beside a window with some kind of view. Very good for mental wellbeing.
@debbie_seymour I was mainly bedbound for the first few years. My husband had to take the children to school and I couldn’t go on holiday with them. I gradually recovered to the point where I was doing 6 mile walks and eating anything after several years of near anaphylaxis to much of my diet.
@debbie_seymour It‘s very hard and unfortunately uncommon to recover from extemely severe mecfs :( Im in the same boat
@debbie_seymour Yes. A number of people who ultimately found their way to recovery from ME were at their absolute sickest/most severe when they finally found what worked for them. The Health Rising Blog has a series of recovery stories that are quite varied- some with very severe ME prior 💗
@debbie_seymour There is hope. As @scotlandwithme says, resting as much as possible is key. I was lucky to understand the biology of rest and sleep when I was struck down, and to have the support and opportunity to focus solely on a very minimised life for weeks.
