For tests, I dedicate the first 5 minutes to have students hold the tests and talk to their group about strategies (w/out pencils). This lowers their test anxiety AND when you walk around, you hear some of the richest math conversations. #iteachmath

I was talking to students that hated math and asked them why they hated it. I realized that they didn't really hate math but rather that they hated being frustrated. They WANTED to understand and like math.

A1: A lot of us have used a flipped classroom from time to time. This fits the mold of a revolutionary classroom, allowing students to learn by discovery. We need to expand just one lesson to stretch further problem-solving in our classrooms. #AllTigersCode #codeineveryclass

Research shows that students read 50-60% more in classrooms with adequate libraries (Catapano, 2009; Morrow, 2003; Kim, 2003; Neuman, 1999). This is in ADDITION to the school library, not as a replacement.

In the latest Game Changer! video, @donalynbooks and I discuss the importance of educators having fingertip access to books in the classroom. #BookAccessForAll

#ThoughtForTheDay Worries me that some educators fear change when the 2 things they should fear is that a year from now they will still be in the exact same place as they are today, resulting in them losing hope that nothing will change & burning out. We need you ..via #Culturize
