If I was a CEO and my compensation for 1 year was $13 million I would work for exactly one year and then go fishing for the rest of my life. 😂🤷🏻♂️
@denvercoder Right?! I don't understand the millionaires who keep grinding out long work weeks year over year when they're already filthy rich. What's the point?
@denvercoder But Tim that only leaves you around 250k per year for the next 50 years.
@denvercoder But if you push really hard then you could make 15M next year!!!! And besides, that other CEO made 26M and you can't let them show you up! "At some point money is just how you keep score" :-( <sigh>
@denvercoder This is a fucking excellent take, tbh.
@denvercoder I plan to retire young (around 40yo) when reaching enough on investments.
@denvercoder Which is why your compensation will never be $13 million. I'm not trying to be snide, just observing that the personalities that reach those levels of compensation are not the ones to ever be satisfied, it seems.
@denvercoder That's wtf I'm talking about, every time I see CEO pay I'm like why ya'll still working? I could buy 2 houses, and just sit on the beach for the rest of my life being drunk and living my best life; ya'll greedy AF.
@denvercoder As CEO, I would hire a co-CEO pay him $1M while I keep $12M and have him do 90% of the work while I go fishing!
@denvercoder I would still work, I think. Work is important to me, I need challenge.
@denvercoder Was around May when a colleague invited us for a farewell cake, and I was like but you just joined us September! He said he only works 6 months a year, the rest of the yr he will be sailing with his boat. He said he had sailed around the Europe, got even to mid-east. That life:D
@denvercoder It’s not about the money. Some people are driven from within to pursue dreams, make an impact, inspire people. Billionaires are some of the most empathetic people you’ll ever meet and that’s how they became that way - empathizing with a problem and solving it.
@denvercoder Whatcha fishing for? Freshwater or salt?
@denvercoder Yeah after a certain point what do you do with the money? Lol if I'm rich enough that I can pass down generational wealth I'm not working anymore.
@denvercoder I wonder if I'd get caught up in some peer pressured wave and keep buying bigger more luxurious things and keep getting into a position where I "need" my new income. I'd like to believe I wouldn't. But my synthesizer hoarding habits say otherwise :/
@denvercoder Bet you a million of those bucks if you had all that talent and capability you’d feel weird after a year or two of fishing and decide you’d be better using your leadership and strategy talents benefiting the economy and creating jobs, even if the public condemns you for it
@denvercoder My name is also Tim and I would also do this.
@denvercoder You say that now, but it's funny how greed can take over. What's cooler than having 13M in the bank? Having 14M in the bank. 😂
@denvercoder I would take 1M and get 48 people in the company at 250K bonus. And I would do that every year. Better approach IMHO.
