Good advice from Denise. When reviewing hundreds of applications, the truth is that I start by looking for reasons to reject quickly. If you didn’t spend much effort applying I’m not going to spend much effort reviewing.

We saw meaningful and higher than expected performance gains when using the after_reply pattern at GitHub for even seemingly fast things like logging all the metrics we record during a request. Hat tip to @blakeorwhatever for adding after_reply to Unicorn 🦄

First date with my now wife when I was 18: Lunch went well so I suggested we see a movie on a whim. This predated cell phone popularity so we just showed up at the theater and took our chances. Only thing showing for hours was “Bride of Chucky”
