the siege of sarajevo started 32 years ago today. in the 1,425 days of the siege over 1,600 children were killed. the effects of this are still felt today. in the 181 days of israel's latest attack on gaza 14,000 children have been killed. i find this loss incomprehensible.
*Add on The real reason they didn't continue reducing class size this year was the teacher recruitment and retention crisis. Reducing class size would have made the issue even more stark in high cost areas. More bad publicity then. They won't say that out loud though.

Our 4yo son is autistic and non-verbal. We started working with a new Speech & Language Therapist and she recommended an Augmentive & Alternative communication (AAC) device. My beautiful boy just used it to say "Love Mom" and my heart is bursting! ❤️😭 #Autism #DisabilityRights

A bit overwhelmed at all the kind words about the piece on radio this morning about World Autism Awareness Day and what you may experience if you’re the parent of an autistic child. You should be aware.

As Trans Day of Visibility comes to an end, it feels strange for me to say "Happy #TDOV" when things are far from happy for our community right now. I'm visible for those who can't be. We are strong, we are resilient, but we are also human. We were always here & always will be 🏳️⚧️
There's a lot of hate on here regarding trans people. Having come out years ago and working on radio, I've never had a bad comment. Listeners respect me, use the correct pronouns, etc. The majority of people IRL support trans & non-binary people. #TDOV2024 #TransDayOfVisibility
