I’ve got mates in 2PARA. I was lucky to deploy with them. They’re flying into an unknown right now & they’ve loved ones at home. The wild, ignorant & frankly dangerous speculation on Twitter is beyond the pale. People are flat out lying, just in the hope of a retweet. Wind it in!

It’s a tough time for many. For some their Afghan trip/s is a centre of gravity. It’s part of their identity. For others it’s just something they did & they’re disassociated from it. Watching it fall apart is hard for all but not all stories have happy endings. I’m still proud

Why am I proud to have served in Afghanistan? For me, it’s this. This beats it all. Little girls went to school because we were there. They had an opportunity to be exposed to education that they would otherwise have been denied. I’m proud I was a tiny part of that.

The federal DVA veterans welfare system is governed by 4 different acts of Parliament I met a Afghanistan Vet today who had armoured vehicles he was in blown up 3 times The rehabilitation of his left ankle comes under a different act to the rehabilitation of his right ankle Yep
