@boardyai pre-seed at $100m arr or nothing at all. few
@bznotes Instructions unclear: just wired $20m at $200m post
Had dinner with a founder from Europe Told me about his dreams to bootstrap a company and exit for life-changing sums. I was appalled and immediately left. He didn't even consider the concept of liquidation preferences.
@PaulYacoubian but Paul, how else does a startup get $100m in ARR if they aren't there?
Fixed it.
VC is a dumb job to do too early. Most of the 5 attributes you need get much easier with experience & notoriety -Unique sourcing -Sub-sector expertise -Portfolio support super power -Track record -Buy-in: GPs want you, not to fill a role Build first, or build these first.
I'm not a Venture Capitalist I'm a guy who types numbers and letters on keyboards who backs founders I bet on high achievers like me

I need a founder.... with $100m in ARR to let me write them a pre-seed
@kylegawley This isn't ambitious enough. If you really want to make a wave, say you have $100m in ARR. Now, you have my attention.
@BillAckman Does this mean I'm actually a prince?
@TurnerNovak If it's not $100m+, it's not fraudulent enough

Had a portfolio founder send me an email today asking for help. I immediately submitted a request to claw back my invested capital. Why? Today is a Saturday. I don't work Friday-Sunday. It's important to establish boundaries.
@icanvardar 1. Make $100. 2. Claim $3.15B ARR 3. Raise at 1000x earnings QED.
@PLBompard Creating shareholder value
@wen_rahme $67m ARR? I only invest pre-seed at $100m ARR
@asmartbear Also, startup has hit $100m in ARR
