@BGR Same on a computer. On a Mac, the free Preview app can fill in and sign PDFs. For small text fixes on any computer, LibreOffice Draw opens a PDF and saves a new one. Keep a copy of the original in case the layout shifts.
@Muzammil_OX For Lightroom, darktable is free on Mac and Windows and handles RAW photos well. One tip before you cancel: export JPEGs of your finished photos first. Your Lightroom edits won't turn into darktable edits.
@AnalyticsVidhya An easy one for everyday people: Grammarly Pro is $144 a year. LanguageTool has a free browser add-on that checks your spelling and grammar as you type. Install it, turn Grammarly off, and you're set. You do lose the tone rewrites.
@AaronScottAI One I'd add: 1Password is $47.88 a year for one person. Bitwarden's free plan keeps your passwords and fills them in on all your devices. You export your vault from 1Password, import it, and you're done in about an hour.
@komal_uk01 No, it won't vanish right away. Your files stay, but you can't add new ones, and Gmail may stop getting mail while you're over the free 15 GB. If you stay over for 2 years, Google can delete it, with at least 3 months' notice. Save a copy with Google Takeout first.
@Zara__Ai One to add: Canva Pro is $144 a year. The free Canva plan already covers most posts and flyers. For pro photo and design work, Affinity is free for one person on Mac and Windows.
@0xForce_ Good find. If you just want something easy: Affinity is free for regular people on Mac and Windows. It does layers and can open your Photoshop files. Photopea works right in your browser, nothing to install.
@Cam_Major Those are two different storage spaces. iCloud holds backups and photos online. It won't free space on your phone unless you turn on Optimize iPhone Storage in Settings, Photos. For apps, go to Settings, General, iPhone Storage and tap Offload Unused Apps.
@CanuckGuy3878 LibreOffice is free on Mac and Windows. It opens the Word, Excel and PowerPoint files you already have. Before you cancel, download any files that only live in OneDrive. ditchly.co/software/libre…
@_drwavy Congrats on getting out. Quick tip before the plan fully ends: download anything you saved in Adobe's cloud storage, plus any fonts you rely on. For photo edits, Affinity is free for individuals and opens your old PSD files.
@MJohn1903@bankingslut For basic PDF jobs you don't need to pay. PDFsam Basic is free and merges, splits and rotates PDFs. LibreOffice Draw is free and can open a PDF and change the text, though the layout can shift a bit. Not a full Acrobat, but it covers the basics.
@victor9er9er Ha, true. Grammarly Pro is $144 a year. If you mostly want typos and grammar fixed, LanguageTool has a free browser add-on that covers most of that, and Grammarly's free plan still catches a lot too.
@wpg_msmith Nice work getting it running on an old Mac. If it ever fights you again, darktable is free on Mac and does Lightroom-style RAW edits. Heads up: your photos move over easily, but old Lightroom edits don't, so export your finished shots as JPEGs first.
@remi_vt Good pick. Affinity is free for individuals now and opens PSD files too. If you shoot RAW photos and miss Lightroom's sliders, darktable is free as well and covers that part.
@DarthhPotato@ZackShutt For most edits, yes. Kdenlive is free and handles a full multitrack timeline. Shotcut is a bit simpler. One catch: old Premiere project files won't open in them, but your video files will. So finish open projects in Premiere before you cancel.
@DamilolaKuku3 You're not the only one. A few good apps still don't charge monthly. Affinity, the photo and design app, is now free for individuals. Joplin is a free notes app that keeps your notes on your own devices. Worth a look before the next renewal hits.
@AroKaratsu Depends what you use most. For Photoshop-style editing, Affinity is now free for individuals on Mac and Windows, and it opens PSD files. Open one of your real files in it before you cancel. Adobe Fonts and Photoshop plugins don't come with you.
@ArifAIHQ Solid list. One more for anyone who writes a lot: Grammarly Pro runs $144 a year. LanguageTool's free browser add-on fixes spelling and grammar for $0. It won't rewrite whole sentences like Grammarly does, so it's best if you mostly want mistakes caught.
@TradeXtb760 No, it won't vanish when you cancel. You drop to Google's free 15 GB. With 1.91 TB, nothing new can upload and Gmail can get stuck. Google only deletes after 2 years over the limit, and warns you first. Grab a copy with Google Takeout before you cancel.
