i am my fathers daughter consumed by the very same green eyed beast that swallowed him whole i’ve worked so hard to conceal it this infection in my wound, it’s feverish heat down to bones but still you feel the way it radiates though me and though i apologize for it

the building my psychology class is in smells just like the lobby of the mental hospital i went to when i was 14 the hands that type my essays are the very same that once drug a knife across my flesh and i am you, and you are me and we have failed each other a million times over.

the moment you get angey devil horns force their way from my skull the hiss of my words pierces your ribs and the smoke and mirrors blind us both, choking our words; twisting their meanings and i’m back there. and she is everything i could never be

but now it’s the dead of night, and the twin lights peering through the dark are getting brighter each moment and it’s far too late for me to break free now. my only hope now is that somewhere down the line may hear my cries, i hope they’re not so naive.

“trolly problem” the tracks beneath me are cold, the steel pressing into my back, the ropes on my chest too tight to breathe. when they moved us all to the same track and told us the restraints would keep us safe. of course we complied, knowing they only had the best in mind.

the growling of your stomach echos the cheers you remember hearing back when you were a shiny, young thing before B’s because a struggle, before you gave up your goodness before you drowned yourself, in decadence you pay your penance now calories in, calories out 1/2

am i right to assume this sin of the flesh would fall upon my shoulders? your eyes can only see what’s placed before them, you say you rewrote the bible to glorify your legacy, to tell me to cover up i wonder who really is to blame, i wonder in a godless world, does blame matter?

if i close my eyes, we’re in my bed, i can feel the heat from your skin against mine, like a cat in sun rays; i am pulled to it. your hair is a messy, knotted mess and your blanket is pulled right up under your nose, all tucked in tight. your eyelashes are long and beautiful,
