I say this as a supporter of the Glider but £145 million is mind boggling. "In response to a written question about the cost of expanding the Glider to North and South Belfast, Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd said costs are currently in the region of £145 million."

@dmcbfs That’s within expectations. Glider1 was £100m & significant construction inflation in last 5 years. Glider1 24.5km of brand new lanes each way, high quality granite stops every 400m, plus ticket machines, signage & fleet of buses. It’s a realistic cost for a high quality job.
@dmcbfs Surely, there's a Lyle Lanley joke hiding in here somewhere!
@dmcbfs What once cost £100 now costs £1,000 designed by 20 people instead of two usually producing stuff that doesn’t work
@dmcbfs Gliders are the worst white elephant ever - had they just bought a lot of new buses it would have been about a quarter the price!
@dmcbfs and if it goes the way of all Gov contracts, it'll end up 3-4 times that amount
@dmcbfs And I’ll bet it goes over 200 mill by the time it’s completed smh
@dmcbfs Bus lanes with no buses in them and the shops closed down along the routes because customers can’t park at them… it’s just a bus at the end of the day
@dmcbfs Why do you support the Glider? The worse service on the road, slow service too and helped to destroy Falls Road Black Taxis (WBTA) that put alot of hard working class men out of work. It should be removed in its totality.
