Something I just thought about as saw someone talking about the inverse, I feel like you hear women talk about “sacred femininity” so often, do men everrrrrr talk about “sacred masculinity”? I feel like “masculinity” is always framed in like high testosterone bullshit activities

I have a slightly different framing of this. For millennia, people were optimistic life got better over time. Promise of new technology, therefore better living standards, etc. But now, we’re all pretty firmly confident, no matter what new tech, we’ll still all be lorded over.

I’d never really thought about it like this before, but the internet gave us a more overarching viewpoint, and I think (rightfully) bummed a ton of us out learning just how cyclical the cycle of wealth is and how it ALWAYS benefits the ultra wealthy. Something’s gotta change.

I think they mentality any of us can ever rest on our laurels is at best a misguided one, at worst, a truly lazy one. We are still in the midst of “history”. There will always be people fighting to keep away or take the rights of good & innocent people. We must ALL be vigilant.

Just wrote an incredibly long thread but ultimately one I think is important. People need to learn how to not take in pain / hurt that’s not theirs / that they didn’t cause / that they don’t have the power to remove. Teaching young people this skill would change the world.

Just a lil thread on the way I wish more people would have more cognizance about how much they truly do have, so perhaps we could create a more equitable world. We all could learn to share more, and we all would be better off because of it.

It’s fascinating how many losers’ arguments rely on some form of “calm down” Rooted in misogyny/patriarchy, the man always acted like he was in the right because he could be stone faced while committing atrocities, and it was the woman who was bad for reacting / having emotions

I think we missed the mark by telling people they’re not “allowed” to do things. That just makes (immature) people want to do it more. I think a stronger, more effective tool would be to say it’s just not recommended because the majority of people will not want to be around you

I hate to make such a crude comparison, but it’s like going to the gym. You have to go to the gym consistently, for the rest of your life. The moment you stop putting work in, you start to cede results. They might last for a little bit, but eventually, atrophy comes for you.

I don’t mean to sound like too much of a video game nerd, but I really wish there was a way to LFG for real life. Some app or platform you could make a post about what you want to do, receive applications, and review them based on people’s public profiles. Just like I do in D2.

Short but important reflection on “family dynamics” / what we can do to make them more fair Basically stop always deferring to the worse/more rude person in the family. It’s easier, because they’re usually the bigger baby, & you’ll get more whining asking them to change, but 🤷‍♂️

This, and the ensuing discourse from this had made me realize: vocally give men a place in the “Me Too” movement / in feminism. That’s all I keep saying, men / especially young men, just want a place in society / want to be needed. Say, “you can help us root out bad men”.
