This wasn’t an episode of Parks & Recreation; it was over 30 neighbors (condo owners) showing up to express their sincere outrage & anger that a developer would propose a 225-unit complex on an open field next to a Whole Foods in the midst of a housing crisis. #a2council
@donnell Was the area already zoned for MF or were they trying to change the zoning?
@donnell I don’t understand. Was the main argument that it will create traffic so we shouldn’t build more housing?
@donnell I am still out of my mind that neighbors resisted a much needed daycare that would replace a former church building.
@donnell I’m curious does the complex have an age limit? There’s a huge one being built near me but it’s 55/65+
@donnell There is always this type of rejection of high density housing by existing homeowners, especially in an area that is zoned single family & condominium. They often have this perception that high density rental housing will negatively impact the character of the neighborhood.
@donnell What was the case they made and did it have merit? Seems like that would be integral to this discussion.
