1/ 🧵 @Polkadot’s Elastic Scaling is a game-changer for blockchain networks. It addresses the challenge of scaling during periods of high demand without compromising security or decentralization. Here’s a quick breakdown of how it works and why it matters. 👇 (1/14)
14/ In short, Elastic Scaling makes @Polkadot highly adaptable, allowing it to grow and handle demand spikes smoothly — something other networks often struggle with.
11/ On Ethereum, gas fees skyrocket during congestion. It's like paying more to use an over-crowded highway. Solana on the otherhand has faced complete network outages when overwhelmed. It’s like the entire highway being shut down because of a traffic jam.
10/ In practical terms, this means that applications on Polkadot can handle sudden spikes in usage without slowing down or crashing. Whether it’s a DeFi platform during a market surge, a game during a big event or a huge NFT drop, the network just works.
8/ Each L2 on Ethereum has its own security assumptions. Rollups inherit security from Ethereum (with some delay), but other L2s may have independent consensus mechanisms, which can introduce vulnerabilities.
