Underrated last hurrah for El Terrible, who battled on even terms on muscle memory and one good eye
@dougiefischer EM was involved in not only great fights but moments in boxing like one of the greatest passing of the torch fights (Zaragoza), audacious 12th rounds (lefty against pacman) and this - a great example of when a fighter loses but also wins. Great legacy.
@dougiefischer Why did Mayweather never have bouts with Barrera or Morales, yet Khan, Pac, Danny Garcia, and Maidana did?
@dougiefischer At 34 years old, not even a shadow of what he was, with several divisions at the top, without legs and with one eye; Even so, he gave a lesson in boxing and heart. Father time does not forgive in boxing, but in the prime of it not even Sparring would have been useful to Maidana.
@dougiefischer I thought Chino would slaughter him. Way over his best weight against an absolute killer, and of course Terrible turns it into a barn burner.
@dougiefischer Way above his natural weight against a real Puncher fighting at his natural weight.
@dougiefischer I still remember Lamps and Kellerman basically reading Morales' obituary pre fight. I love Morales and am proud to say my first Vegas fight was at ringside when he upset Manny in their first fight. Definition of a warrior
@dougiefischer Did well in his first fight vs Garcia as well.
@dougiefischer I'd have to watch it again but I thought Morales did enough to win. This fight and the first Danny Garcia fights were super impressive for an older fighter. 👏🏾
