Humidity and temp changes affect like 10% at most. What do you want me to model the IOR with? At what IOR and distance can this object be seen at eye level?

Only refraction would effect it, but we don't have a fresnel lens in the sky with a high IOR, and air IOR pulls thing UP, not down. So that video is bunk.
