New: The Uvalde gunman had threatened to rape, kill and kidnap girls in online messages before the attack. But teens who reported it were ignored, and some saw his angry misogyny as just “how online is" washingtonpost.com/technology/202… @SilviaElenaFF @Cat_Zakrzewski @NaomiNixWrites
Yubo, the group-hangout "Tinder for teens," won't say whether the company received reports of abuse about the gunman. One teen told us dozens were sent, and nothing happened. "I witnessed him harass girls and threaten them with sexual assault" washingtonpost.com/technology/202…
Some girls said nothing; guys talk like this online all the time. @daniellecitron: Girls have "internalized the view, ‘What else do we expect?'" @wphillips49: "When someone says something violent to you, for many women that happens so often that it wouldn’t even register."
@drewharwell So he was a Republican free speech enthusiast?
@drewharwell I'm not surprised. Mass murders are perpetrated by males. Young men are not going to college as frequently as women. They are threatened by women. Instead of working on themselves, they take their rage out on women. Overturning RvW is systemic misogyny. Women know all of this.
