Y después de tanto esperar, Gears of War: E-Day llegó para quedarse. Han pasado cinco años. Pasaron muchísimas cosas y cambiaron otras tantas. —Luis

@XBOX Psycho Magoo To the end!

Luego aparece El Rodeo I, donde permanecí secuestrado. Nunca me llamó.

Ollie Millroy delivers an emotional message to thank Loek Hartog for saving his life yesterday in Shanghai, China. "I am still alive tonight, entirely thanks to one man; Loek Hartog stopped instantly with no flag marshalls or fire crews in sight, and risked his own life to get me out of the car. "I don’t remember anything between 30 seconds before the crash and 1 hour after it, but I will remember his incredible act of bravery for the rest of my life. One day I will tell our three kids this story and Loek will be the biggest superhero in history in their eyes too." "I’m laying here tonight with 5 broken ribs, broken collar bone, broken hand and finger and a bruised lung, but it could have been much worse. Thank you Loek. I owe you my life for your selfless act today." [Ollie Millroy, via IG]

@HelldiversAlert Almost every game session at least once, my game crashes on my Xbox series S when extracting from the mission

I’m tour guide today!!! Special visitor to Caracas from this kid (who’s no longer actually a kid but a 19-year-old adult.) I often get asked how I learned about Venezuela, and why I care about it, cover it and visit it etc, and a lot of it is down to him and his brother. In 2021, when I was in Colombia volunteering with an NGO supporting Venezuelan migrants, they were two of the first Venezuelan kids I met. He and his brother, 14 and 15, had migrated from Merida and were living in Pamplona. They’d come by to help at one of the shelters and eventually ended up living and working there. They weren’t in school so I enrolled them in one, their parents weren’t there and well our lives became intertwined in ways none of us expected and they were one of the reasons I stayed longer than planned. They were the ones who painted a picture of Mérida for me - the mountains, the climate, the people - before I’d even been. They helped me improve my Spanish, including Venezuelan slang. I learned about Latin American music. I didn’t even know who Bad Bunny was until they told me, and I’d hear them listening to his songs on repeat. I learned about baseball in Venezuela, and more about football too. But I also learned about the more difficult things: how they survived by collecting firewood and trying to sell it during the worst years of the crisis, sometimes not selling anything and having nothing to eat. About not going to school five days a week because teachers had to find other jobs to survive. About inflation, and why even in Colombia they would spend their wages as quickly as possible rather than save them - they had seen their parents do the same, constantly worried that the currency would devalue even further. I learned, through being with them every day, about the impact of migration: xenophobia at school (and me arguing with the headteacher on behalf of another student,) the psychological impact of leaving home, and the medical and dental problems that came with the worst years of the crisis. I learned the pain of a 14-year-old being separated from his mum, then his dad, and having to navigate all of that and liase with a mother I'd never met. I learned that the most important thing I could do wasn't enrolling them in a school for an education or even helping financially, it was simply just being someone who was there for them. Five years later, they’re both back in Venezuela and I've visited them a few times in Merida and Barquisimeto, they are still a massive part of my life and we're still teaching other things all the time. This one visiting me today winds me up constantly, and his sarcasm is reaching the level of the Brits. I like to think I helped with that. Pretty proud haha! And all these years after he started teaching me about Venezuela, he's visiting Caracas for the first time in his life - and I'm the one who gets to show him around 🥰🇻🇪

Chávez no vive.
