@LeakerApple I don't think I really can care (about the statistic mentioned) so long as I want any particular iPhone. I know that Apple will never sell me an iPhone that malfunctions. That's how much I trust this brand to never compromise.

If your phone is just a phone thing, then yes. iPhones now easily last 5 years or longer. Most of their models have never changed core functionality since the iPhone X. 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 have barely ever moved or changed. It's mostly 6.5", has a notch or Dynamic Island, cameras honestly have always been passable. When it breaks or no matter works, you can change it then. If your phone is something that runs your life, I think it's a no-brainer if you're upgrading to a different form factor for productivity though. I'm talking about keyboard phones and phones that give you tablet screens.

A piece of advice for smartphone users around the world: If your current phone still works fine and you don’t have a strong desire to upgrade, I suggest holding onto it for now. With memory prices continuing to rise, smartphone costs and prices are entering an absolutely insane

I CALLED IT. It's happening y'all. The singapore gov has launched a pilot programme for a gov-run dating service. Looks like the pilot is currently restricted to just government workers for now.

Spatial compute is now starting to look exciting. Apple Watch: The new Siri Recaps and all-day summaries present a more forward piece to that overarching vision. I'd think that, discrete pieces to the technological puzzle — Find My & AirTags, rumoured wearable cameras (or LIDAR instead?), Secure Exclave, Vision; are hopeful to converge if the bets all work out. Be neat if we can see Apple wearables as this network of unified space-awareness reality layer. iPhones (as their central hubs) harness 5G's ultra-low latency and high bitrate processing for a persistent reality. This is a vision of distributed personal computing.

This plan includes reducing management layers. Apple just laid off a large number of EPMs, or program managers, in its hardware division, including half a dozen directors. Employees expect more job cuts in the coming several months. Apple has been doing small layoffs.
