1/n The observations from COVID clusters (closed spaces ; crowded areas; close contact — 3Cs) again point to the possibility that viral load matters in exposure. It’s not possible to prove this, but animal models also suggest that viral loads r linked to disease for other viruses

2/n Masks are effective in decreasing viral loads even when they are imperfect. Again, there’s moderate to strong evidence for this, even in Covid, as well as other respiratory viruses

Quarantine is for WELL people who were presumed to be or definitely in contact with cases. Done for longer than maximum incubation period Isolation is for CASES ( people who are suspected clinically till proven) or ( proven cases.) Done upto the point of no risk to others.

I am an oncologist. I tell people they have cancer. I tell some people they are dying of cancer. I am used to seeing fear in people’s eyes. I have never seen this much terror, so many grappling with their own mortality. Hope the party in Daytona Beach was worth it.

To the oncology Twitterverse: there is a great interest in the RegoNivo combo for mCRC and it is used outside of clinical trials. Would it make sense to collect the data on these pts centrally to obtain more evidence. A novel concept, needs IRB, of course. Interest? #OncoAlert
