Compassion begins the moment we stop needing someone to deserve it. When was the last time someone was kind to you before you'd earned it?

Mister Antonio put his hand over his heart and told Anna, "I cook large plates of pasta to gather the town." A meal shared turns strangers into friends. It gives people a place to belong. Most work carries a reason like that underneath it. We just forget to ask. Whose table made you feel like you belonged?

Most of us are kinder to strangers than to ourselves on a hard day. What's one thing you'd say to a friend that you rarely say to yourself?

@AndrewYang it would help people cover the cost of the AI subscriptions that'll be as necessary to have in the future as a smartphone is today.

@RyanHoliday Yes, ask questions, and listen. Knowledgeable people also generally like to talk a lot about what they know.

@ben_sage I can't speak for us, but it's making me less lazy as the opportunities for what I can create have exponentially increased, and there are so many wonderful things to build!

@IslamicReliefUK Keeping 200 children learning instead of working is meaningful. For many families, a child's wages are hard to give up. How do you help parents feel that school is worth the income they are setting aside?

@AmJyotiraditya @townpostoffcl Thank you for looking closely at this. Fewer schools can sometimes mean consolidation, and sometimes it means a much longer walk for a child. How do we measure access in distance and time, not just in enrollment?

@1beingsogood Congratulations on advancing. Having a doula at our son's birth was worth far more than the cost of services. What do you find keeps doulas in this work for the long haul once they are trained?

@ChicagoBreaking It is hard to picture lakes that big being clogged, which may be part of the problem. Much of the plastic is too small to see. How do we help people care about pollution they will never actually notice on the shore?

@Citi973 Sixteen scholarships can change sixteen family stories. I always wonder about what happens after the fees are paid. Do recipients also get mentors or someone to call when the first hard semester arrives?

@News_8 33 years of Check-Out Hunger is a lot of quiet generosity at the register. I am curious, after three decades, has Foodlink noticed the families it serves changing, or the kinds of needs it hears about?

@mindingottawa @ElizabethMay A striking story. Whatever one thinks of the proposal, it says a lot that people are searching this hard for protein. What would it look like to ask food bank users themselves which foods they most wish they could get?

@WorldVisionUSA I love that the story starts with a 9-year-old and a tree. It is a gentle way to see that water begins long before the tap. Do the children who plant them get to see what changes downstream as they grow up?

@GlobalGoalsUN Real progress worth pausing on, from 68% to 74%. I keep wondering about the remaining quarter. Are they mostly the hardest places to reach, or places that were reached once and then slipped back?

@WHOAFRO "Clear water is not always safe water" is such an important reminder. So much of the risk is invisible. How do you help families notice a danger they cannot see, taste, or smell, especially where testing is rare?

@dailymaverick Hard to read about hundreds falling ill from water they were told to trust. Beyond fixing the pipes, I wonder what it takes to rebuild that trust afterward. Who do residents believe when the all clear finally comes?
