Art is political. It doesn’t matter if Heated Rivalry is a romance series, all art is political. Every casting, plotline, piece of dialogue, costuming choice, etc. is deliberate. There needs to be intersectionality within a series about queer love and joy.
i was looking forward to seeing wiebe's character in the show because he’s incredibly wonderful in the book and such an integral character for ilya, and it weighs heavily in my heart that they decided to cast a zionist in a show that has become a home for so many people, people who deserve a show that makes them feel safe and understood… sending so much love and hugs to everyone 🤍
